Using an Organized Bookmarks Bar

Save the web pages you visit often by placing them on the Bookmarks Bar.

How to add the Bookmarks Bar (in Chrome)

If you do not have a bookmarks bar we can add it from the menu in Google Chrome (on any other browser).

  1. Click on the 3 Vertical dots on the top right corner of Chrome (that is your menu).
  2. Within the menu, choose Bookmarks.
  3. Then choose Show Bookmark Bar.

How to Add to the Bookmarks Bar

When you want to add a website to the Bookmarks Bar follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Website of your choice (to bookmark)
  2. Click on the STAR to the right of the Web address or URL line.
  • Edit the Name of the Bookmark.  Keep it as short as possible.  In the Example below we would rename it to Mission (for the Mission Computers page).
    • Choose to add it to the Folder called Bookmarks Bar
    • Click on Done

How to Delete a Bookmark

When you want to remove a website from the Bookmarks Bar follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Website Bookmark on the Bookmarks bar.
  2. Right Click.
  3. Choose Delete.

How to Edit a Bookmark

When you want to Change the name of a bookmark on the Bookmarks Bar follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Website Bookmark on the Bookmarks bar.
  2. Right Click.
  3. Choose Edit.
  4. Type in a short descriptive name.

How to Organize the Bookmarks Bar

Keep your Bookmarks Bar in an order that makes sense to you so you can find your bookmarks easily.  Your order could be alphabetical or in order of the most used or popular websites you visit.

  1. Go to the Website Bookmark on the Bookmarks bar.
  2. Click and Drag any bookmark to any new area.
    1. If you are trying to move in between 2 existing bookmarks you may see a vertical line.
    2. When you are at the new location for that bookmark, let go of the mouse.
